Michigan Tech Wall of Honor

MTU MUB Honor Wall Installed on the second floor of the Memorial Union Building on the Michigan Tech Campus, this wall honors the Tech graduates who have given their lives in the wars of the US.  The college was founded in 1885, and there are no known Tech grads who fought in the Spanish-American War, so the first names on the wall are from the Great War.

There were five Tech grads who lost their life in the Great War:

  • Donald Francis Duncan ’09
  • Bernhardt Edward Heine ’17
  • Kenneth Oglvie McEwen ’02
  • Ira Gladstone Penberthy ’07
  • William David Stevens ’15

Another post explores what is known of their career at Tech and service in the war.

The full list of graduates who have given their lives in war on this memorial may be found here.
